Flat Wavefronts is based in Christchurch, New Zealand. We prefer to work from our offices, but are able to travel to your site when necessary.

Our existing and recent customers range from planned Extremely Large Telescopes, to current Very Large Telescopes to Universities and Research Institutes:

Marcos van Dam, the director of Flat Wavefronts, has been involved in and passionate about adaptive optics for over ten years. His experience ranges from theoretical studies in wavefront sensing for his PhD, to hands on experience at WM Keck Observatory, Lick Observatory and the University of Indiana School of Optometry. Dr. van Dam has taught several courses at the Center for Adaptive Optics Summer Schools and the University of Hawaii at Hilo's Observational Astrophysics course. He has acted as referee for six different journals and been on the organizing committee for SPIE and OSA conferences, as well as publishing numerous journal articles on adaptive optics.
